multiple campaing discovery - how to
« on: January 12, 2010, 06:52:50 PM »
Hi Mike,

I just got back from vacation from the holidays.. and I am revisiting TextBlue, say I created three campaigns and started the campaign broadcast, what I noticed is that TextBlue (TB) discovers my device and offers me one campaign just fine, however, the other two campaigns are never offered once the device is discovered by the first campaign.

I got a bit of a request, is it possible to:
1) add a counter to TB so that a campaign is only offered "x" amount of times?
2) Is possible to have a version of TB that uses MS access?

I also found a possible bug:
When creating a promo campaign, the campaign is offered but on the device, the text gets cut off, on the sides.

Regards,
Raf

Hi Raf

Thanks for using our TextBlue software and for the feedback.

In order to identify the issues you raised I created the same scenario as you by also creating 3 campaigns but I didn't have the same experience as you. The software worked well, offered me Campaign 1, then Campaign 2 and then campaign 3 with no problems as all. (Occasionally you find that the Bluetooth on your mobile/Cell phone stops working correctly and a quick restart of your handset resolves these issues.)

As for your feature requests, please see below:
1) add a counter to TB so that a campaign is only offered "x" amount of times?

A- Currently the system has a Reject Retry Count which applies to all campaigns, this is basically the same but as a Global rule as opposed to an individual campaign rule, We would prefer not to add this setting to individual campains as it then requires more technical experience to use the TextBlue software and the software havce created to be very easy to use so we wont be adding this featutre to the standard application (If you are interested in a bespoke rebrand of the software , we will be glad to intoduce this featiure as standard into your custom software.)

2) Is possible to have a version of TB that uses MS access?

A- Well we have created TextBlue with reliability and features in mind and therefore chose firebird for our database of choice, however again for your custom version we can switch to MS access for your custom version but please it would require significant development work as the database functions completely differently and we would have to change all the logic from the DB side to the Client side.

Finally just tested that issue you mention regarding the text, have tested it on a number of Nokia , Motorola and Samsung mobile phones and all the phones automatically resize the picture to fit the screen so unfortunately sounds like the issue exists on your handset itself. Please let me know the make and model of your handset you are testing with?

It would be great to discuss the rebranded custom solution in more detail, please feel free to contact me directly on quinton@textblue.co.uk

Kind Regards
Quinton
