How do I override Windows' default OBEX Server?
«

Hi,
If I set up an OBEX server to receive files on my Windows box, how can I be sure that Windows' default OBEX Server will not kick in? Is it necessary to disable it? If so, how?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
First, Windows has no OBEX server running by default. Every time user want to receive files using it he must turn it on. Only third party drivers, as Toshiba, WidComm and BlueSoleil has build in OBEX server which can run always. The only way is to disable it from drivers settings.

Got it.
But if we know that there's already an OBEX Server running, is it possible to somehow guarantee that your OBEX Server will override the current one?
thanks again

No, there is no such guarantee. Morever, some stacks will not allow you to create second service with the same service's UUID.
