Hello,
on Windows 10, we are using the wclWiFiSoftAP .NET class to start a wifi network.
In general it is working, but in a case we have the WCL_E_WIFI_DIRECT_SOFT_AP_START_ABORTED return value.
Do you have any suggestion to understand the problem? Maybe wifi dongle not supported?
Thanks in advance.

Mike Petrichenko:
Hello,

Unfortunately there is no extended information about error available for SoftAP. Usualy it appears if the WiFi Radio module is not ready or turned off/disabled.

Mike Petrichenko:
Hello,

We did more tests and found that the error may appear when a WiFi hardware was turned off and then turned on and you try to start Soft AP immediately after that. Unfortunately there is no any information about error appeared during that process. The WiFi subsystem simple sends Operation Aborted notification.

fiteng.support:
Hello Mike, thank you for your reply.
What do you mean for "turned off and then turned on"? Could it be done automatically by Windows? It is strange because we try to start the wifi more times and every time it doesn't work.
Considering this kind of error, do you think we can try with another class, to create this wifi connection?
We used also the normal netsh command to create an hosted network, but it doesn't work (probably because this is not supported by Windows 10 and by this wifi dongle).
Thanks again for the help.

Mike Petrichenko:
Hello,

Switching "off" and "on" means that your can disable WiFi hardware by switch or by clicking on WiFi icon or by disable WiFi adapter in LAN adapters list or in Device Manager. After enabling it back you can face the Aborted error.
